Support recycled plastic products for schools in Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province.

The historic flood in September 2024 has caused serious consequences for the education sector in Lao Cai province. More than 140 schools and educational facilities in the province have been damaged by landslides, flooding, and other impacts. Approximately 20 schools are located in landslide-prone areas and need urgent relocation and reconstruction, with Bac Ha district being the most affected (as of 16:00 on September 20, the district has 12 schools that need to be relocated). Flexible solutions are being implemented by the education sector in Lao Cai province and Bac Ha district to resume teaching activities while ensuring absolute safety, such as temporary use of cultural houses, old schools, or private homes; dividing classes into two shifts per day. Furthermore, due to the lack of functional classrooms, subjects like English, Computer Science, experiential activities, and library services have to be conducted within the classrooms. After more than 2 months since the storm passed, the ethnic groups in Lao Cai province and Bac Ha district are actively implementing solutions and mobilizing resources from the province and support from organizations, individuals, and businesses to overcome the consequences of the flood and stabilize the lives of affected people.

Given the significant damage caused by natural disasters in Bac Ha district and Lao Cai province, the Leadership Team of Thanh Tung 2 Limited Company voluntarily contacted the representative of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Bac Ha district to plan support for the schools in the district.

The products include: 800 roof sheets, ridge tiles, and roof tiles; along with 24 sets of student desks and chairs; 5 dining tables and 20 chairs.
